Fall Bible Studies 2010
The Study Of Matthew
When: Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm
Starting: September 15, 2010
Teacher: Rev. Van Lazaroff
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:70
You have to wonder what Jesus saw in Matthew. He was a tax collector; a profession that has never been popular with the general public. Tax collectors in Jesus' time took from their own people and gave to Rome. As long as they met their quota, they could tax whatever they wanted.
That is where he was when Jesus called him.
You have to wonder what Matthew saw in Jesus. No office. No committee. No clout with the local church. The clergy wouldn't give him the time of day. And this is the one who claims to be the Messiah!
Quite a pair, these two. But Matthew accepted Christ's invitation and never turned back. The relationship these two had can serve to convince us that if Jesus had a place for Matthew, he just might have a place for us.
Join us as we explore the Gospel of Matthew as he shares his understanding of Jesus. Bring your Bible and an open mind as we explore Matthew's insight into Jesus.
The only material required for this class is your Bible.

The Life and Teaching of Jesus Christ
When: Tuesday morning at 9:30 am
Starting: September 14, 2010
Teacher: Rev. Tom Graves
"Jesus wrote no autobiography. He left nothing in writing at all. He committed himself and his teaching simply to the hearts and memories of the men who knew and loved him. And they did not fail him. The four little books that we call Gospels are our primary and practically our only sources of information about the life and the words that have changed the world. We may wish the story had been told with greater fullness and detail; but we know that, short as it is, it is enough. It has given Christ to every race and age."
This is a ten week course and is a wonderful way to delve deeper into the actual words of Jesus Christ. The book takes you through the gospels and has scripture references at the end of the chapters.

Your life is God's project, not yours. God's vision for your life is not just that you are saved by grace, but that you also learn to live by grace, flourishing with the Spirit flowing through you.
"The Me I Want To Be" is an instant classic, a powerful guide to true spiritual growth, and an operator's manual for building a Spirit-filled life in a world where perfection can only be found in God's loving vision for you.
